Matthew’s journey into the world of canine rehabilitation is truly a story of sliding-door moments.

With 27 years of experience as a boutique and commercial cabinet maker and joiner, Matthew’s path into the world of hydrotherapy rehabilitation began following a personal injury in 2015. During his own recovery, he experienced firsthand the remarkable benefits of hydrotherapy. Through a strict and demanding hydrotherapy program, Matthew not only returned to full function but ultimately surpassed his pre-injury capabilities.

This deeply personal experience sparked a passion for hydrotherapy and a strong belief in the incredible benefits that water-based rehabilitation can provide.

Today, Matthew brings that same passion, determination and hands-on approach to his work with every canine patient. He thrives on the challenge of helping dogs overcome injury, rebuild strength and mobility and continue progressing long after their initial rehabilitation has been completed.

Matthew believes that rehabilitation is about more than simply recovering from an injury. It is about creating meaningful, sustainable changes that improve a dog’s overall quality of life and allow them to remain active, comfortable and happy for years to come.

He particularly enjoys the challenge of teaching “old dogs new tricks”, developing individualised programs tailored to each patient’s unique needs, abilities and goals. Whether supporting a dog through recovery, helping an ageing companion maintain mobility, or assisting an athlete in reaching their full potential, Matthew’s focus is always the same: helping every patient live their best possible life.
